Helium for a season

A blimp fills with about 170 cubic feet, roughly $255. A 200 cubic foot tank is about $300 locally.

Over a six week season with top-offs every three to seven days, budget for a tank and a bit. Set the account up with your welding-gas supplier in October, not on the first Saturday in December.

Renting instead, in Phoenix and Tucson

If your season is in greater Phoenix or Tucson and you would rather not own anything, we run it: balloon, helium, install, weather monitoring and removal.

Balloon service is $247.25 a day and blimp service $297.25 a day. Weekends only works fine, billed the Monday after, no contract.

For a lot open Thursday to Sunday for six weeks, that adds up, so most seasonal operators buy. But it is there if you want one season to test the idea.

When should I order?

First week of November for a printed blimp.

Will cold hurt it?

No. It will look soft on cold mornings and firm up by afternoon.

Can I reuse it next year?

Yes. That is what makes the maths work.

Is artwork included?

On the blimp, yes. Both sides, full colour.

What about snow?

Bring it down ahead of wet snow, not during.
